Earth to The Democrats: Wake Up!

Snap out of it!

i was raised in a Democrat household in the fifties sixties and seventies. There was no doubt who we were as a family and there was no doubt we were Democrats. John Kennedy was it. But something changed along the way and those who still consider themselves to be a Democrat need to pay attention.

The frog in the pan.

There is the old great analogy of putting a frog in water and raising the temperature ever so slightly so as not to alert the frog. Then of course when he is cooked, it's too late.

That is what has been occurring to the Democrat party over the last 35 or 40 years. It is a subject of much debate of whether it began before or after the 1972 election, when George McGovern ran and lost to Richard Nixon. But whether then or at the beginning of the Carter era, the Democrat party shifted from center right to a much more leftist feeling and attitude.

There could be no doubt with the Clinton administration that there was a fundamental shift to the left. This was the time that political correctness crept into the policies and ideals of the ruling party. Now of course Barack Obama is President and there is talk amongst some Democrats openly of a Socialist nation.

Now I remember my parents and lots of those of my friends who were Democrats. Those folks had more conservative leanings and values than exists nowadays among those who call themselves Democrat.

As recently as Bill Clinton you had a President who had a strong background as an executive. He being a Governor of Arkansas who had enjoyed a level of popularity. He was seasoned before he entered the White House. No one questioned that aspect of his tenure as President. He had other issues that helped take the Party far left.

Now with Barack Obama we have a President who had only ever served in the State House in Illinois, then a brief three or four months in the United States Senate before running for President. There was no executive experience there but if that was brought up the speaker was merely termed a racist and derided as such. He was chosen by the party rather than Hillary Clinton who had gained political experience and capitol alongside her husband in his administration. This was rather akin to hiring a young executive and three months later having him approach and demand the CEO position and corner office.

Democrats: When this man was campaigning he promised things he could not deliver. That was pointed out at the time but of course that meant the speaker in question was racist and hate filled. Those things still have not been accomplished, the worst being the repair to our damage economy which was promised within the first year of his administration. Then was the closing of the prison at Guantanamo Bay. Still open and functioning the same as always. Then there was the Middle East issue. Troops still there, more in fact and we fight in more countries than we did when he took office. The only real thing that he promised that his come forward has been the Health Care law. That, or course is raising eyebrows even from leftist judges who cannot square it's requirements with the Constitution. It will likely fall before the end of his term.

I have spent time in discussion with the progressive folk who now populate, nay infest, the Democrat Party. The have bemoaned that their President had not done the things he promised. They call him a Conservative and some have openly compared him to George W. Bush. Yet when I asked if they would vote for him again without any hesitation I was told...Absolutely.

Folks there is a marvelous thing known as Common Sense. If you have made the mistake of hiring someone, and Barack Obama is an employee of the citizens of this nation, then why would you compound the error by promoting him with a big fat raise. That is in effect what you would do if you saw to his re-election.

When you look to the right you will see at least seven Republican candidates. All eager to get the primaries over with and do battle with the President for his seat. Those people are not stupid and they are not taking this step out of the idea they will fail. They are gunning. There is plenty of evidence that he will not gain a second term.

So why do you ride a lame horse? Is it just simply forbidden to rise up and run against him? Is that what the Democratic Party is now? I remember Democrats that were noble, not those that inhabit the headlines these days with some really sad scandals. Those would have been ignored if they could by the Party because there really is no moral base there anymore.

The big mistake Democrats made was in 2008. Hillary Clinton should have been the party nominee. She was vastly more experienced. Why do you suppose he chose her for Secretary of State?

I digress. Democrats wake up! Find a leader worthy of the party, not just one who wants only to party in the White House and play golf.

Good Night!

Glad to see that at least one American does have common sense and realizes there is something sinister about the current administration and its' policies!

Well sinister is one way maybe to look at it. I just cant imagine if the folks in the party dislike the tone and direction why they don't run someone else. They have the right
