Political Correctness and the Upcoming Election
72Dangerous Ground
I am sure that this is not the first article on a subject such as this, nor will it likely be the last.
We are now in the second month of the primary season for the Presidential election of 2012. At this point in time there is a quite a battle going on for the Republican nomination, while Barack Obama sits back and waits to see whom he will be pitted against. Now the first situation we need to discuss is the fact that he is unopposed in his own party. I find that amazing and appalling given the level of grumblings heard from those ranks over the last couple of years. Now also there is the contraception issue raised by the administration whereby they thought to force a large part of the religious population in the U.S. what they must do in that realm.
The blow back from that incident has been fierce and some in Barack's party have claimed to withdraw their support. But I just wonder how long that will last especially now that their has been a "compromise" offered in the deal? I saw an interesting editorial cartoon which depicted Death handing a bag containing thirty pieces of silver to a Catholic Obama supporter. I know there are Republican and Democrat Catholic voters. I just hope they will view things concerning the election and the behavior patterns of their respective parties with open eyes. Increasingly their is a trend from the Democrat Party to overlook or dismiss altogether the rights guaranteed in the Constitution.
The National Defense Authorization Act is a good example of this. In theory the administration could, say, view hubs such as this one as a threat to the security of the nation and I could be arrested, without warrant and without being charged and held indefinitely. Sounds rather a Gitmo thing to do does it not?
Then once we get to the actual race for the Presidency itself, you can rest assured that whomever the Republican nominee is will be accuse of being:
A. Racist----it is the main bludgeon of the left at this time. After all no one could possibly disagree with any stated policy of Barack Obama without being a blatant racist. The fact that I would disagree with those policies where they stated by a politician of any race regardless does not matter.
B. RICH-----Another guaranteed low blow on the way. It matters not that the President himself is quite wealthy or that most any given Democrat politician is obscenely wealthy. No Democrat is actually anything but an average Joe according to the Party.
I really hope there are some Democrats that will pay attention to these and other troubling issues emanating from their increasingly Socialist Party. They may not wish these things. Time to get off the fence.
Happy Weekend.

My question that was deleted. "What is a bigger waste of time than protesting?". I guess that some occupy people did not want their followers to think about it. It had a lot of answers too.
I actually get a laugh out the fact that democrats get no choice of candidates. Perhaps they should think of it like this: 'No Choice is the change you voted for'.
Hello, JS,
This is a very thoughtful and timely hub. And you are quite right -- When it comes to using "political correctness" as a weapon in the upcoming presidential campaign, the Obama crew is going to pull out all the stops.
In fact, the "OWSers" are already starting to regroup, because along with the left-wing-dominated news and entertainment media, those "protesters" will serve as one of Obama's biggest political action committees (PACs).
There is a bigger waste of time than protesting. That waste of time is ignoring the protesters! They have something to say and their legitimate voices need to be heard and any legitimate grievances need to be dealt with as best our leaders can. This was a fine Hub with a few correctables still lingering. The themes "out of touch" and "in over his depth" are already well established. Now the run between the red roses and the blue forget me nots is underway. Heaven help us.

Why did your question disappear? They took down one of mine too and claimed that it should be a forum topic. Im not going to risk having some moderator ban my account just so that I can ask a question. I'll let the PC police have the questions section.
I go on twitter and talk politics with some of these people. The republican supporters are almost as bad as the liberals. They want to put words in my mouth just because I do not support their candidate of choice. For example, one said it doesn't matter that Mitt Romney is rich. Even though I never said anything about his money. He was trying to paint me as a left wing class warfare guy to his followers. Another one said that I support Obama because I questioned if Newt is the best candidate. Ron Paul people call me a neocon of course, but I pay no attention to them. I hope that a lot of them are paid supporters, because if this is how real Americans act and react we are in a lot of trouble.
